Peace begins in your own heart

What Meditation Is

Meditation is a process to rediscover the quietness that's always been there. Behind all the internal chatter, there's a silence of pure awareness. It's not about forcing your mind to be quiet; it's about reconnecting with the stillness that never left.

Our mindfulness meditation programs are customized to your specific needs. In our Charlotte studio, Guru Ranjit works with you one-on-one, guiding you through the layers of conditioned limits that have been holding you back.

Let's Meet for Your Complimentary Session

What happens in a session

It is personal guidance for the life you are actually living.

We practice the skill of meditation. You will not be expected to clear your mind. There are no lectures and no pressure to perform.

A session is a warm, honest conversation supported by mindful breathing, emotional awareness, and gentle guidance from a teacher who can see your patterns quickly and compassionately.

You will explore:

  • What you are feeling and why
  • What your stress is trying to tell you
  • How to process big emotions in a healthy way
  • How to soften patterns that keep you stuck
  • How to breathe in a way that brings real relief
  • How to create inner space for clarity and calm
  • You learn how to relate to yourself differently.

Life feels lighter because you feel different on the inside.

You do not need to become someone new.
You need the space to return to yourself.

At Charlotte Meditation, we believe:

  • Peace is not achieved. It is allowed.
  • Lightness begins with awareness, not forced behavior.
  • Stillness brings clarity.
  • Acceptance softens what feels heavy.
  • Understanding brings freedom.
  • Beneath the noise and conditioning lies clarity.

Our mission is simple:

To guide you gently back to the calm, strength, and clarity that have always been within you.

Guru Ranjit

Guru Ranjit Deora is a meditation teacher, founder of Charlotte Meditation, and co-founder of Youth Meditation. He shares timeless wisdom of the East to address the urgent questions of modern life, helping individuals and organizations find peace, clarity, and self-awareness through mindfulness and meditation.

Ranjit has guided students for more than 30 years. He specializes in mindfulness meditation, meditation therapy, corporate wellness, and Laughter Yoga, tailoring each session with a variety of meditative techniques to meet each person where they are.

Early Life & Path

Ranjit’s meditative life started in Udaipur, India. His first teacher was his mother, who practiced daily and taught him that spirituality is the foundation of happiness and well-being.

As a young man, he traveled through India and Nepal, visiting Buddhist monasteries and sacred sites — not to formally study Buddhism, but to experience and understand its teachings, to observe the silence of those places, and to deepen his awareness of the spiritual traditions linked to inner peace.

He later trained in Zero Point Meditation with the renowned Guru Dhirendra Bhramachari, learning practices focused on self-discovery, self-leadership, breathwork, and inner observation — foundations that shape his teaching today.

Teaching Philosophy

Ranjit believes that meditation is not about stopping thoughts b,ut instead it’s about relaxing the mind and body so you can return to the quietness that is always present beneath the noise.

His approach emphasizes:

• Awareness over effort
• Understanding rather than escaping thoughts
• Discovering the true self instead of becoming someone new

Corporate & Community Work

Ranjit has led programs for organizations including Bank of America, AT&T, Citi Financial, Procter & Gamble, The New York Times, UNC Charlotte, UNC Greensboro, Mecklenburg County Park & Rec, among others. His corporate programs enhance focus, creativity, emotional intelligence, collaboration, and leadership awareness.

He has also co-founded Youth Meditation, a nonprofit initiative that introduces mindfulness into schools, helping children and teens build emotional balance, confidence, and resilience.

His guiding principle is simple:
To know one’s self is to know all.

Through gentle guidance and inner observation, he helps students reconnect with their natural peace so they can live with more joy, clarity, and purpose.

Angela Gala

Angela Gala is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Youth Meditation and serves as the Senior Instructor at Charlotte Meditation. She offers a unique mix of entrepreneurial experience and extensive meditation practice to her work supporting children, teachers, and parents across the Carolinas.

Before dedicating herself full-time to meditation education, Angela spent 20 years as co-owner of Rogers and Gala Creative Partners, a well-known event production and design firm. Her work has been featured on The Today Show and quoted by The Associated Press, ABC News, MSNBC, and major media outlets across North America.

Angela's meditation journey started in 2008 when she began studying with Guru Ranjit Deora. Working in a potentially high-stress, competitive industry, she found that meditation helped her stay calm, focused, and creative regardless of the circumstances. The deep impact on her work and family life motivated her to share this practice with others, especially children. She is a mother of three, whom she describes as her most enjoyable mindfulness experiment.

Angela teaches Mindfulness Meditation, Laughter Yoga, and Meditation Therapy to corporations, non-profits, universities, and schools throughout Charlotte. Her dedication to making meditation accessible and secular led her to co-found Youth Meditation with Guru Ranjit, a program that has now served thousands of children across the Carolinas.
