Mantra Meditation in a few sentences

Mantra meditation uses sound to tap the peaceful place within you – believe it or not, we all have one.

Mantras are specific words, phrases or sounds that connect you to deeper aspects of your consciousness. When that happens you systematically enter quieter levels of the mind to reach your natural unworried and alert state. Mantra meditation requires no contemplation and no monitoring of thoughts.

Best if you …

… are easily distracted

… can’t concentrate

… can’t sit still

… have a jumpy mind that won’t turn off

… aren’t drawn to meditation’s contemplative aspect

… prefer to meditate for short periods

How It Works

The Mantra technique is easy to learn, but requires specialized interactive guidance. For this reason, it’s taught only through one-on-one instruction by Charlotte Meditation founder Guru Ranjit Deora, who gives each student a personalized mantra, specific to his or her needs. The simple technique is practiced 15-20 minutes, twice a day, while sitting comfortably with your eyes open or closed.

You’ll also work on breathing techniques and discuss  fundamentals of sleep and nutrition tendency (or “dosha,” as known in Ayurveda, the ancient Indian holistic health science).

Mantra Meditation is not new. It’s part of the Vedic tradition of India, stretching back several thousand years. It’s an important part of Ayurveda or “The Science of Life,” one of the world’s most ancient systems of natural healthcare and personal development.
